Post by: dirtskirt on February 23, 2014, 03:57 PM
So why does'nt anyone over here stock these?

They'd sell like hot cakes surely?

If someone in the uk could secure a supply of decently priced freestyle type tyres they'd be able to retire to their own tropical island with hot n cold running dirty ladies within 12 months  :LolLolLolLol:
Makes me wonder why I don't do something about it  :chin:

Sure Pork chop did say a while back they were hoping to get some stock but I have never seen any listed on their web page.

There was a fella called Jeremy on the BMXmuseum was selling these in all colours a few years ago.

The problem he encountered was he got a run of a 1000 tyres and when he went to reorder they said they wanted a minimum order of 5000, he didn't want to commit because after an initial run of good sales demand petered off and he nearly got stuck with some of them.

Looks like someone has managed to do a deal again.

Excellent compromise for an early Goose, skin wall looks lighter than Cheng Shins too  :daumenhoch:

These are skinwalls >>  http://www.bmx-guru.com/servlet/the-16083/snakebelly-skinwall-bmx-tire/Detail

I have ordered a set and will get them when my mate ships my bars over. I will let you know what they are like but I would assume really good as they are made by Cheng Shin  :daumenhoch:

I had a few sets of Cheng Shin Panaracer freestyle copy tyres from BMX GURU still have some on my rides & they are VERY good. Same as Terry i had to get a friend in the USA to ship them to me here as the guy won't ship to the UK as he's been ripped off by someone in the past.

It won't say anything on the cheng shin web site  as usually with these tyres (especially the coloured ones) its the distributor for that country ordering a an SMU or (special make up) for their market as they will have 2-3 large customers wanting them.

in the USA there was 2 stores BMX Guru & another guy who were ordering the white cheng shin Panaracer skin walls together in order to get the numbers up to the minimum quantity required by cheng shin in order to get them produced say 1000 tyres per colour for example.

The other guy died but before that there was problems as they couldn't decide where to get them shipped as Cheng shin wouldn't split the order & they were in vastly different parts of the country..... Unless someone like pork chop can do the the numbers on his own i reckon these tyres will be getting thiner on the ground in the future.

that makes sense then if its a made to order thing and as you say they will def be in short supply again. Shame the repro BMX products team can't pick this up and get some made can't much they haven't repopped yet  ;D

i couldn't decide and it was free US shipping over $100
so went for two lots of fat thin and a pair of thin, seem to remb always running 1.75 tyres BITD

poss' will sell on one pair of fat thin to help ease the pain of the postage cost from US to UK  >:(

I will be impressed if they are skinwalls (hard to tell but going by the join between tire tread and sidewall I would say gumwall), keep us posted though  :daumenhoch:

He does make the point in his description Marty , I quote ' these are skinwalls not gumwalls'  :-\ . They look the same type of sidewalls as the re issue comp 3's from Tioga to me .

Like you say , be interesting to see what they are like when they arrive .

You're right, they looked like skin walls in my phone, well the top picture did.

It'll be interesting to see what the bmx-guru tyres are like, i'm about to give up on finding a decent CP or Mongoose set...

A bit more than I had hoped is the short answer
I brought 3 pairs to get free US shipping and work out about £50 a pair landed

Bmx guru won't ship to UK so you need a contact state side
They took about a week door to door allowing some slack for my mate to get to post office and forward on.

I think bmx guru has plenty left its just getting over here ...

Think that's the only way
Contact in the states
And double ship

Even if bmx guru listed them on eBay we could use the eBay service
