Woke up at the crack of doom this morning so buggered off over the gayrage (the neighbours dog loved me banging my BB cups in at 9am) ;D

Just need to get my M2 lever and cables plus a chain and she's done :daumenhoch:
-
Lovely colour combo :daumenhoch:
Only thing for me being hyper critical and if it was mine is the small sprocket with the recess in the chain stay for a large sprocket.
I still love you though Rob :-*
As for the dog has it ever woke you up with its barking?
-
very nice :daumenhoch:, I fancied one of these when they were going for next to nowt a few years back, should have got one just to look at, never bought one coz I would not really get a chance to ride it. Good to see you've brought it "back to life" :D
-
Those coming together nicely. Love the colour combination. :daumenhoch:
-
Beautiful!! Love it! :smitten:
-
Cheers guys, glad you like it. I love it!!!
I hear you Gary but ive got a 9T rear sprocket so the fronts a 25t. Might go 28 if I find a nice one :daumenhoch:
-
Nice mate
Where did you get that seat Rob
-
Got it from the Rad shop Nick, it used to be on Dave's bike I think so I got it cheap as no one would want anything that Dave's arse has sat on ;D
-
like that a lot rod very 8)
-
That does look well nice Rob :daumenhoch:
-
Very tidy Roberto :daumenhoch:
-
Thanks guys, I know its a 2003 and with the way ive built her she's not really mid school at all but I love her :smitten:
-
Frames mid school Rob - Souls are tank bikes :daumenhoch:
OCD kicking in........front tyre wrong way round........ :LolLolLolLol:
-
I really like it a lot :coolsmiley:
I think 33/12 might be a good option :chin:
-
That looks really good. If your happy with how it rides, then go for a different rear hub and run a freewheel. 36-13 has to be your best bet.
You have got many options with the brake being where it is, you could always fill and paint the recess..!!
Mid frames with new parts is the future.

Got a silver standard 28t Rob, if you fancy a swapsie, not got a pic at the minute and the bike is packed for my week away, but should be able to take a snap on Tuesday whilst riding the wooden surf in Doncaster!!
Mind you, it still won't fill the gap in the stays!!
Looks nice anyhoo.

Maybe not with the kudos of those but DMR V8's or wellgo are a good option for late mid school :daumenhoch:
-
Might have to replace them then with some newer less desirable PEDs then ???

:LolLolLolLol:
DMR V8's are less desirable only because they are still available so not rare but you'd be upgrading IMHO.

Since when have GT DX's been pricey? You could buy empty on 'ere last year for sub a tenner a pair :daumenhoch:
-
You get 3 types of GT DX. The first ones had pressed in pins like DX's (Shimano sued them over these), the next two versions were manufactures with much chunkier forged pins in the body.
Forged ones are cheap as chips. The pressed in pin version sell for £50.00 - £100.00 on the museum depending on condition. A pair went for over £100 on Ebay not long ago, but you have to ignore one offs like that. Either way, Id consider a pair like Rob's to sell for closer to the £100.00 mark based on what has been happening on the museum over the last year. :daumenhoch:
-
Christ that's mental Jon ???
-
Fook I just given two pairs away :LolLolLolLol:
-
You taking it next weekend to ride rob ? Or do you want me to bring you a Bmx to ride

Yeah - the DXs that I was on about are the 'pressed pin' ones - the forged ones are the same as the KHE and other ones of the time based around the Wellgo body with big old flekky holes?
Last three pairs of them pressed pin GT DXs I've paid less than a tenner here in the UK in the last year.
Personally don't go on the Museum prices as to be frank they're cray cray - like buying a set of g-sport forks for 250 quid.... if ya pay that much for mid school pedals there's something gone wrong with mid school stuff - no ridey to much shiney :LolLolLolLol:

I agree Dan, US and UK pricing is 2 different things. Try put a Curtis or Birmingham Wheels on the Museum for what folks over here pay and it will gather dust. Similarly, mid brand like KHE are quite desirable here in the UK, but don't get the time of day in the US. On the other hand, things like mid school Schwinn is picking up in value rapidly in the US, and you cant give that stuff away over here.
In some ways we are very lucky here in that items with potentially high value (2 hip for example) are cheap as chips and easy to find in the UK, but I dont think that means we should simply write their value off. :daumenhoch:
If Rob's pedals were for sale in Aus or the US he would get good money for them.
-
Totally agree Jon - tbh the prices over in the states for some stuff is crackers - as is some of the money aussies pay for stuff n'all.
I don't want to write off anythings value Jon, but what I'm not keen on is seeing crazy prices for stuff over here - like 100 quid for a TNT stem etc Can't stop inflation i guess :)
And sorry for the derail Rob ;)
-
No worries Dan........always good to chew the fat and stuff :daumenhoch:
-
Very nice that Rob :smitten:
-
Cheers Paul, im well happy with her :daumenhoch:
