Title: New bmx track and club in Wigan
Post by: mike pardon on August 15, 2006, 07:51 PM
Just to let interested parties know we are in provisional talks about reopening 3 sisters again for bmx racing. I can tell you it wont be on the old site but will be a stones throw away still on 3 sisters. We are provisonally looking at 07 for a world class facility to be up and running. Watch this space!!!
[

b]we are also looking for people to come to an open meeting to form a new club to eventually run the track and hold regional, national and international meetings. Can someone suggest a suitable venue in Wigan and a date and time to suit? [/b]

many thanks Mike

Yes iam waiting for the council and three sisters to get back to us on a few matters. They have provisionally offered us two sites for a new track and you better believe its going to have dirt jumps!!! It wont be open to the public all the time because of insurance issues but will have to run like a (decoy set up) . Obviously its early days yet and councils being like they are we will all have beards by the time they get moving!!!!  but there was genuine interest.

Also we need people to get involved in reforming a club to run the track, races etc. Can interested parties contact me or Alan (at his shop )we want to have an open meeting in wigan in the next week or so to discuss proposals form the thing then we can start applying for funding.

ta MIke
