Title: Frame ID........stumped on this one, get your thinking caps on lads.
Post by: oberonspacefruit on March 25, 2014, 05:22 PM
Ignore the forks/headset.

Just been sent this frame, along with a load of other bits as an ebay job lot. I have no ide what it it is.
Now normally these threads go.....akisu....falco.....theta...meteorlite....giant, but this is a bit of an oddity.

5 things that make me think its not just a POS, although it may well be are:

The cranks that came with it, 170mm maxy tours
The welds
the headtube reinforcement
The sealed end to the seatstays and chainstays
The ping it makes when flicked.

the gusset behind the bb shell looks goose, but nowt else does.
serial is just number.

I can find anything like it in the museum.

Its obviously a mini, and prob a mini cruiser type, with the low slung tubes.

Any thoughts?

The Head tube & the rear drop outs look a bit (Curtis MINI) but thats about all ...

As far as I know they never used that box section behind the BB. There was a freestyle frame on Facebook or on here the other week that definitely had a Curtis head tube & drop outs which looks like it might have been some kind of development frame .... Maybe this was too ?

Don't shoot me down people , just a thought...

no, I entertained the curtis theory too, due to the headtube and possibly the drops.
top tube measures41.5 cm from centre to centre.
