Anyone got any good tips for cleaning Tuff II's? I've got some black ones with a few paint spots and in need of a good clean.
Thanks!

First approach : brillo pad and ellbow grease and then off in the dishwasher
I don't use detergent but give them a good scrub and strip the bearings and axles out, then a couple of goes on the hottest setting :daumenhoch:
Failing that fine sandpaper the spots ---- i've heard that tuffs are pretty much resistant to chemicals, and people have even used paint stripper on them "wantit", but.... (I'm just guessing that any sanding might make a redye necessary ....?) .....better try the brillo first

X2 on the dishwasher :daumenhoch:

Cheers guys, I'll try out the dishwasher method - when the wife's not in though!

Using any form of sanding will result in a different surface texture on the areas you sand.
Get them aqua blasted... there's a thread on here somewhere. It does work as I had some done myself at this place in Stockport, Cheshire.

I recently put a wheel that had some rust and paint on in a citric acid bath. The aim was to remove the rust (which it did fantasically) but it also made the paint come off with a really gentle and brief scrubb with a brush. Might be worth a try as a bag of citric acid is only £5 from ebay.

The vapor blasting sounds intereting. Does it bring them up really well?
Not sure I want to put acid on Skyways, be scared they'd just melt!

Haha citric acid is pretty harmless. It's the equivilant of concentraed lemon juice in powder form. That's why I use it. No vapours, no skin peeling qualities (although I do still use washing up gloves if I've got to get things out of the bottom) and you can pour it down the kitchen sink when you're done. In fact if you empty you toilet bowl, pour it in there and leave it for a good few hours you have the cleanest, shiniest toilet bowl you'll ever see :D
