Had a couple of SE flovals, 2007 and a 2009, loved building and owning both, just didn't enjoy riding them.

Seat too low for a pub cruiser, both were crap on the track, both looked ace!! both got sold.

Also had a Haro x24, early 2000's, £30 on ebay, powdered it, dressed it in nice tyres etc, heavier that the Flovals, but rode so much better.

Depends what you want, Old school cruisers are a bit more `upright' than more modern ones.

Would still have another Floval though, Love the SE thing.

Had a few 24"s all have seemed to small and look proper crap with the huge seat post, now rolling on a 26" and 29" and find them much nicer.

They got a high BB, had a WTP avenue, same problem high BB, Chumlee flipped over the bars on it at MK, man the ground shooook. Brake mounts look cack on the skyways but avocet are now dumping them on ebay at trade so might be worth looking at them in white and get the brake mounts removed

Love my 24" Skyway, rides beautifully. The quads flex in the bottom bracket quite a bit. Had a new Floval back in 2008. Nice and sturdy but not as nice as the Skyway IMO.

Nope. Get a 22" Faction Almero. Rides more like a 20" than all those mentioned so far :daumenhoch:

I love riding my Faction Zeightgiest but it's a bit low spec. The new Almero is the bollox - tests better than the S&M 22"  and the new wheels and kevlar tyres are awesome

I agree Spen , I love my TA24 but if i hadn't bought that i would be having one of the Curtis's .  Awesome piece of kit , hand made in the UK by a true bike craftsmen and rare aswell .

Buy one and when it's done, just  flog the TA f&f Joff..... >:D

If I was gonna have a cruiser, it's a complete no-brainer. A hand crafted uber rare thing of beauty built to order it would be, and you could see it being made if you wanted to :daumenhoch:

My opinion is the 24" Floval

Ditch any idea of the horrible flexy shyte pram wheels and 26" should only be on a mountain bike  :daumenhoch:

Title: Re: Thinking along the lines 24" Cruiser UPDATED...
Post by: BADDH on April 27, 2014, 08:53 PM
Well the  chase is  over I got my 1st Cruiser today and built it up this afternoon.

I ve looked at loads of different models and  different budgets too,  there's no doubt there are some awesome 24" bikes out there, the Skyway 24" takes some beating and some the geometry just feels wrong for me.

I wanted a Cruiser and an attacking bike, one that could switch up when the mood took me really I do ride bikes that way. One minute sit and stroll the next I am off on one blasting round.

I narrowed it down to the 2014 SE 24" Floval Flier  the bike just suits me brilliantly  with geometry and gearing perfect for me and well in budget too  :daumenhoch: mind you Tinks been on it most of the Day and says it's her Rad rider for this year now..  :LolLolLolLol:

I am also up for a Curtis 24" if I can afford it...  "bump"

Thanks for your help guys
