Afternoon all,
Im currently cleaning up this:

It will be a cleaned up survivor and not a full/part resto.
I have cleaned/bleached the white plastic parts below (Peg in the first pic is to show a true bright white), and am debating whether to use a peroxide solution on them to make them a brighter white.

As you can see, they are all slightly off white, but i am wondering whether to leave them as they are now, or to go the whole hog. Part of me thinks i should leave them as they are, as they look a bit aged, like the rest of the bike, but the other part of me thinks i should make them brighter, seeing as I have got this far with them.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts!
Cheeeeers.

I've put Grips in the Dishwasher and they are ok.
With the Seat Warm bowl of Bleach and old tooth brush and work it in. Only thing is, it will rub the name off seat if you rub too hard.

Get em bubbling away in the sunshine :daumenhoch:

im gonns be leaving my pedal cages as they are laidback, and your wheels look fine to me :daumenhoch:
-
Definitely need sunshine if your going the peroxide route. If you live in LA go for it...if its Yorkshire maybe not....
-
I've decided to leave the parts as they are for now and build the bike up as it is. I might even bring it on the London Ride 8)
I can always strip down the wheels again in the summer when (if) we get some sun and peroxide them if i feel like it

I got a nos kashi a few year back still sealed. It had yellowed very badly.
I read all these threads on whitening & decided to go with just sun to start with.
I put a bit of grease on the rails on put it on the garage roof for a couple of week last summer.
The thing is now mint, I couldn't believe my eyes.

I did the same as Glynn with my White Kashi. Works a treat :daumenhoch:
Just left it in a sunny spot on a window sill. Didn't even need to be outside.
No issues with rails or decals etc. Just needs a bit of time and turning now & then.
I think it was Arnaud who first mentioned it :coolsmiley:
