Title: WTP Avenue 2010
Post by: steviebwoy on May 04, 2014, 10:42 PM
Hi all,

I went to my local car boot today and found this little WTP Avenue.  Was thinking I could probably patch it up a bit. It's a 24 I think, and obviously only a few years old (I think 2010 ) in spite of it being fairly battered.

What do you reckon? Worth a cheeky purchase? I grabbed the guy's details so I can follow it up but thought it worth researching first.

How much was he asking? I would have parted with £80-£100 without question, but only because I'm looking for a cheap cruiser for my son for school.
If you put black tyres on it and put it on ebay I wouldn't be surprised if it fetched £150

Cheers Gary, the chap had put £100 ono on it so I reckon he would have taken £80 for it. I am quite tempted as I think they sold for £400 - odd when new. Do you think it's a worthy doer upper?

As long as there is no issues with the rear hub or crank I would have snapped it up.
Where are you as any bikes I see at boot sales are always halfords/tescos shitters

Would you guys give it a new paint job or keep it in it's (rather battered) condition? Trying to add value to it really..

Don't waste anymore money on it, it's a £150 cruiser in original paint

I haven't even bought it yet to be fair..! Starting to wonder whether it's worth buying for £80. Looks like 1x Yes and 1x No so far!  :crazy2:

Oh okay, so you don't reckon I'd be able to make much of a profit out of it then?

I've got the 2008 WTP Unified 24

Rides pretty well and can handle street all day long

I had a Freecoaster on mine and used to ride Nottm Broady Banks on it most weeks

Currently Rawing to eventually rust the frame.

Cheltenham. I'm happy to hang onto it for as long as it takes for someone to come and collect - not in any real hurry as it's stored in an outbuilding at the moment, safe from the elements :)
