Hi . I am looking for people who are still into bmx aged about the 35 to 45 range . I have been out of BMX for nearly 20 years now due to an illness but want to get back into it but feel stupid at the age of 42 trying to do it on my own :-[ . If there is anyone out there there in the Essex area interested in chatting to me I would be extremely grateful . I hope to hear from people . Please message me .

None of them here "nono"
Much!

There's a bundle of riders out there over 40, don't give it a second thought.
RAD organises a lot of private session which are perfect for you. Only potential problem is where they are - all the cheap skateparks to hire are up north so you best be up for a road trip.
Morning sessions at Rom are fairly relaxed. Aside from that, I have a mini ramp at work in Brentwood, and I've been having early morning nibbles at the new Harold Hill park. You're welcome to come along.
Oh, and don't worry - I'm 47 and fat......
Whereabouts in Essex are you?
Welcome to the forum.

Thanks TwoBobRob for getting in touch . It is gratifying to know I am not the only person 40 + who lovews bmx and wants to do it . I live in Wickford . I can get to rom and I think there is a smallish skatepark in Rayleigh . I too am a bit portly ( massive understatement ) . I hope we can chat some more . Bye . ;D

Thanks for the nice welcome Griff May message you privately sometime get to chatting with you and all that if you don't mind . That goes for you too TwoBobRob . Hope we can chat soon

Tubbs,
You have skateparks all around you mate.
Pitsea
Billericay
Canvey
Basildon
Leigh on Sea
Rayleigh - you are correct
Rawreth
Brentwood
Dagenham
Romford (Cottons Park)
And they're just the ones off the top of my head.
However, they're not all necessarily that good..... worth going and checking out though, have a look.
Personally, if I just want a wobble around, I like Dartford, Rom of course and Harold Hill ain't too bad.
It does also depend on what sort of riding you do - what did you ride in the 90s, ramp, dirt?
