Just having a sort out of the shed and dug out this Frame set I started last year but lost interest in,I did initially think it was a Murray/SE Mauler, but after a bit of research I found out that although this is the Frame Murray used on the Mauler the forks are not the nasty fake landing gear they had on it but are the Murray forks they used in the early 80's on a bike called the 'Murray 24'.
I found this out after camo vinyl wrapping the frame and applying a few SE decals, that coupled with the the pain in the neck of sourcing the stupid sized seatpost and headset I was just peed off with it and left it to rot in the shed.
Fast forward today and digging out from the shed where I also found some 26" Raleigh wheels and schwalbe road tyres from a bike shop stock lot I bought a couple of years ago, for a laugh I thought I would try them on the frame to see what it looked like and amazingly they fit-just!.So I am thinking of building it up with them to see how it rides-let me know your thoughts on the idea.

I can't imagine why!!! Get your ass down to the ford and pick your box up, it's so heavy it's bowing the shed floor

Looks like it would make a fun pub bike :daumenhoch:
By the way The Goonies was realeased 29 years ago today

my own personal take on this .. longer stem and shorter bars
-
^^^ WHS
Lower bars and definitely a longer stem. I had one of these bitd I picked up from a mate (Warren Friel) who got it from the states when he and his family lived there. I ran CW type cruiser bars (can't remember if they were copies) and an inverted stem which was a DK or Pro Neck. Was great fun to bomb around on but hard work on the track!

Noted,Lower rise bars and longer stem,I think your right ,thanks for the feed back-I do love the way the wheels look so I am going to go for it.
