Well that's that idea fooked then
-
They're not a cheap frame set, and at '83 you're wanting a loop tail... Value would be less if you stick to 84 onwards :daumenhoch:
-
Cheers Chris, gotta be a basket case somewhere out there 💃

Now now let's not be too hasty 😈
-
79 - 84 were all looptails, 85 the one year only straight stay and then on Quadangle stays etc etc etc.
Post up a photo and let's take a look :daumenhoch:
-
the problem here is you put non painted
people want nice ones of course, but also shit ones to restore. you might be better getting a painted frame and stripping it, saying that its gonna be upto 300 as chris said unless its fooked

Not if he's building a freestyle Ripper ;)

Well thanks for the sound advice guys, it's not what I wanted to hear though >:( thought there may be a cheapie about seeing as there's millions of em but they're obviously in demand.
My race bike knowledge is limited, I just like the look of rippers with the ally finish & fat welds so any suggestions on something similar from the same era & most importantly much cheaper
-
Try looking for a Race Inc too, the Rippers were made in the RI factory for the year your looking at so other than the geometry the welds are exactly the same.
What budget are you thinking of ?

Saw that race inc my bud found Ash, the bare alloy just appeals to me. Budget wise it needs to be cheap cheap, rough as race inc & any old forks would do as a plan B

That's just a race ripper with tuffs on :teef:
Anyway given the hill Rich lives on he could do with at least one lightweight bike
