Title: Difference between Haro Sport and FST.....
Post by: bigfatolly on June 20, 2014, 09:26 PM
Just picked up a Haro FST which I think is an 84 as it has no platforms on the dropouts.
Am I right in saying the FST is one inch shorter than a Sport?
I also read somewhere that some FSTs left the factory decalled up as Sports?
I really did want a Sport but they are so pricy,so would it be wrong to decal it up as a Sport?
Will be painting it in the Haro blue colour :smitten:

What is the serial Number?

Brummie is spot on.

Standers on the sports appeared from May 85

It's not arrived yet but it's actually stamped up as an 86 but has no cable guides so could be an end of line 85

If it's stamped 86 it is an 86 or 87. There are some anomalies. Do the forks have standers?

from what I gather such was the demand for the FST that some of them are actually sports, was talking to the Haro expert Jay at Mk a couple of years back and he said some of them under the powder are actually chrome, these were the ones that were designated to be sports but became FST's to meet demand.

The forks I think are later as they have cable guides and holes for the flat standers....

I have a 86 sport painted and stickered as an FST was NOS when Brett and I built it a couple of years back after riding it, it does appear to chrome all over   :4_17_5:
