Also it's got holes for os brakes & looks like mounts for the 990 type ???
Would like some beefy looking wheels like them on the morales that was in botm last month 8)
What's best to go for fellas :chin:
-
I can't help you with any of those questions as I know nothing about Morales but I do like your style with snapping it up because you like the look of it! I concur, it does look pretty damn cool.
-
They were only about for a few years from around 95-98ish. Two generations of the flat land frame. I'd put money on that being a gen 2. There wasn't many gen 1 frames. Gen 2 was slightly more mass produced along with their freestyle frame the bts. Then they disappeared.
-
nice bars on there ,have a look on the museum was reading a thread on there last wk about the different versions 8)
-
Nice bike, I don't believe they came as completes though...just frame sets. Parts are the right sort of era, give or take :daumenhoch:
-
Nice that Rich, looks like a right chunky bastard :daumenhoch:
-
Did have a trawl on the museum & do only seem to be frames with various different bits. These kore bits do seem the most common though ???
-
Well I believe Bob Morales made the early Kore stuff so there is a link. Most Morales had Kore forks :-\
-
Cheers skidmark, suppose if im after chunky wheels I need to be after triple wall jobs. Is this gonna be 10 9r 14 9n the axles ???
-
They'll be 3/8" - wasn't until '99 really that frames/forks generally started getting 14mm - wheels beforehand, but most cut the rear drops to accommodate.
If you want chunky wheels to fit the time period of the frame, try finding some original Sun BFRs. Some of the first big'ns they were.

Is it "try" n find em cos they're hard therefore expensive to find ???
-
They were plentiful fella, but as with most stuff in the 90's they got the doo-doo ridden out of em. No mid stuff should be mega expensive, you can get earlier and later Sun rims for £30-40 a pair if you keep looking.
Collecting Mid stuff's about waiting for it to crop up more than paying mega-bucks that OS goes for (no offence to OS), unless you buy from the Museum, there's cray-cray prices over there for some stuff.
-
Or you could buy NOS and build your own. Cheap for a pair of rims I'd say........http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161099016065?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Thats BMX City in Grantham... I got a chrome pair from there for my Pork.
If you want a decent pair of heavy but sealed wheels you can get a set from them laced to Prolite hubs for £40ish
A Morales is deffo on my wants list ... they look very dope.
Phil Dolan style.

Which without sounding like an a-nus are the 1999+ ones me old mukka. Not that I'm saying being all era correct and that is what you should go for, but the ones that fit his build (imho) are these:
[attachment=1]
What type of build you after though Chubby? Flatland or street/park? If you're off for flatland go for a Dolan style build like in Ed's piccy with HP-48 rims with a Perry front and a freecoaster rear with the same brake set-up. Street then go for the thicker rim and shlep either a freecoaster or standard hubbage on the back :daumenhoch:
-
Shlep ??? ??? ??? :LolLolLolLol:
I like the chunky look of the 1 in the piccy & also the 1 in botm last month, so suppose that's where I'll head :chin:
Really appreciate the input fellas
-
nice that

love the kore parts :daumenhoch:
pm me if you have any q's

Took forks off yesterday as the stem shaft is stuck like fook & they've aprebic stamped on the steerer tube ???
-
Googled Aprebic, they are a taiwanese fork manufacturer, still making forks today although for road and mtb.
My guess is they made a batch of forks for Kore.

Did wonder about that, they do look the same as other kore forks I can find piccys of. That means that the stem shaft is deffo stuck in them then :yahoo_silent:

Put the bolt back into the stem or hammer a bit of dowel into the hole to plug it, turn upside down and fill with red diesel and it'll seep down the shaft.

All this midschool lark is confusing me :LolLolLolLol:
Gonna chuck this thing in the van & bring it to MK hopefully one of you lot can give me a midschool crash course while I'm there :bellend:

Hello mate. Just out of interest did you ever find out the story behind your forks? Reason I ask is iv just got a pair of the same ones (aprebic on the steerer) certainly look like kore but I'm unsure? Also mate are yours threaded or threadless?. Thanks bud.
