Built a couple of bikes, but never stripped down a frame and forks for paint, what's the best way to get bb cups and headset races out of a frame....guessing a hammer is needed at some point? ???
-
BB and Headseat cups need 1 x hammer and a drift, an old steel seatpost makes a good drift, place behind cups and hit, then move drift to the oppsite side of the cup and repeat until out.
Fork race needs 1 x hammer and a wide, flat bladed screwdriver, same principle as above, tap around from one side to the other until it comes off.

Nice one, kind of thing I had in mind, just wanted confirmation, cheers!

As above, using a metal headed hammer as it will have far more 'shock' impact than a heavy rubber or plastic head :daumenhoch:

when putting cups in a frame.. stick them in the freezer for a few hours and it will shrink them so easy to fit

Cheers fellas, will bear that in mind.

Me neither, just shave some powder off, line them up in a vice and tighten SLOWLY making sure they go in straight :daumenhoch:

Yep :daumenhoch:
Don't forget a bit of grease so they pop out easier :daumenhoch:
