Post by: ED209 on June 28, 2014, 09:19 AM
lacing Araya 48s to Peregrine semi pros ... with a twist ( in the spoke )

thought 187s would be close enough put they are miles out ... looking at getting 183s?

what do we think  :)

i've done this before and just used the correct size spoke for building it up normal, i dont think you need longer ones just because it has a twist in it.  the best way i found to do it is build the wheel as normal leaving all the spokes loose then go around it removing 2 spoke nipples and twisting the spokes then replacing the nipples.

Just measured the ones that i bought from Mark @ Retrospect and theyre coming in at 182mm.  Im pretty sure that when i bought them he listed them as 186mm??

Hopefully they'll be ok for a twisty build when i finally manage to get the right bits  :'(

cheers John ... the build is not a probelm... I'm well practised as I keep getting the wrong size!

Gav - I reckon an actual length of 182 would be spot on - I'm going for 183 and seeing how it comes out.

Will keep you informed.

Ben - your Yoda-esque advice is always refreshing  :surprise:
