Need some modern 1/2 inch sealed bearing pedals for a little project, whats out there going cheap guys? All the wellgo type pedals i can find on the bay dont specify the bearing type :(
-
Any ideas gents?
-
You just want to use the spindles & bearings from em clint ???
-
Are plastic peds more likely to use sealed bearings ???
-
I need the lot Richard, need to take some accurate measurements for the bearing rebates etc. All the modern stuff seems to be 9/16 or loose ball when it's 1/2 :(
-
Not sure on the fesability, but could you not just re-thread the 9/16 down to 1/2?
-
I thought of that but trying to avoid it if possible :-\
-
I think you're stuffed on modern one's Clint - maybe ask over at Flatland Fuel as those hoppity little bunnies regularily use 1-piece cranks fella and might know of a modern bmx sealed set?
Maybe some road bikes use em?
Failing all that Peregrine did their sealed peds in the 90's in 1/2" fella, but they'll cop you £20:

It's not looking good buddy but those Perry peds may just save the day. Anyone ever took a set apart? Would be great to see the internals before I splash the cash ;)
-
Ere you go Clint - Stu of the Disco persuasion did a conversion from 1/2" to 9/16" to other year with piccies:

Cheers Gary, I did see those but the shaft between the thread and pedal body is too long for my plans :(
