Title: bottom bracket grief.
Post by: rakas17 on August 20, 2006, 05:26 PM
i'm trying to change a crank from a 1 piece mongoose that has japan31 and taagi 175 stamped on it, to a tioga cr-mo tubular max-flo 1 piece which has 175x24 stamped on it.
my part of the bb that screws down and holds the sprocket in place wont go on the tioga crank, it starts then wont carry on. obviosly the thread size is different but how do i know which type of bottom bracket i need?

   cherrs for looking,  joe

Hi, most of the early mongoose takagi cranks are 28 tpi all other cranks are 24 tpi. looks like you will have to change the BB to a tioga beartrap or similar hope this helps :daumenhoch:
