ive used it its really accurate, but need to be sure on the spoke size that anyone can tell me,just i have loads of spokes in the workshop, but might need to order the rite size :daumenhoch:
-
ok found the calipers to measure the hubs etc,ok when i calculate for the size of spokes it says 197mm for 3x and 4x is 186 this is on the large flange suzue hub,how can i go about using 194mm spokes?
-
If the hubs are Suzue small flange size then 194mm with a 4 cross lace , if they are large flange 184mm ( 3 cross lace ) or 192mm with a 4 cross lace :daumenhoch:
I will double check later but ideally like Jongoose ^ says above we need to know what hubs they are ;)
-
It just says suzue on it so here is a pic of it,would i get away using 194mm

don't think so, they look large, high flange to me
think the required small flange would be about 50mm edge to edge? ..at least that's what boba's SR hub measured (in the link i posted).
-
yeah there large mate so thats a no to the 194mm,i may strip the other wheel i built and build it with just small hubs :-\
-
Found 185mm spokes will they do on them large hubs 3x or what pattern will do :daumenhoch:
-
rite i used the spoke calculator it came up with 185mm 3x i have started on the outbound ones got a few in now there really short, will 194mm not work.... "help"
-
ive fitted high flange suzue front hub to pro class and i used 194mm 4x :daumenhoch:

cheers danny, after me just stripping another rim to get 189-190mm spokes, good 194mm wish someone had off told me earlier, your a life saver :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
-
sorry, man. just ignore my posts in the future ;D
....the 8mm difference between danny and the calculator result is strange, though :chin:
-
LOL :crazy2: ive fooking gave up on it when i go to do the 4x the spokes to short lol yet i laced the back rim on small hub no problem but this is doing my fookin head in,will give it another blast after work tomorrow,if the spokes are to long and they poke through the nipples i'll just grind them off :daumenhoch:
-
That's what I did with some Zeds, some of the spokes were too long so I ground them off with the Dremel....
-
right am going to do a set of z rims now on large flange sr hubs will 186mm spokes be ok 3 x ?
-
rite am going to lace a set of araya 7x to large flange hubs its 186mm 4x,but can i use 184 with long nipples?
-
184mm 3x will be fine for 7x on high flange hubs :daumenhoch:
-
Good man dan just am never to sure on the right size of spokes coz i seen me putting the wrong thing into the calculator before and started too lace it and it was all higgelty piggelty :D
