Title: old guys
Post by: Fronthop on August 18, 2014, 07:13 PM
Hi I am new to Radbmx, I am back on my bike after 30 years. I am 47 now and just got a mid school Specialised Vegas freestyle bike. I love all the old tricks, ground work as there is not so far to fall. Any other older guys out there going through the same mid life crisis. I am aiming Hugh to be better than I was 30 years ago. Its a great Keep fit regime. Fun all the same, even with the Cura and bruises.

Good stuff, my thing back in the day was the front hops. Aiming to beat my record over 30 years ago. 127, only another 101 to go. Might take a whole then Rome wasnt built in a day. Sore on the wrists. Keep on keeping on

Welcome.

Don't give your age another thought. Ride what you want, how you want and you'll fit right in :)

Whereabouts are you located?  UK?

If so, have a look in the members events & gatherings section, get yourself along to one of those doos - you'll have a blast.

How many front hops??????   Best I ever managed was 6......

Yes thanks for advice, got hooked up with some guys my age, involved in running bmx indoor park. Oldies like myself. Up to 27 front hops. Aiming to beat old record from 1986 which was 127. Practise names perfect, just got bigger bars which will help. Yes you are never too old. I am in N Ireland.

Cool.

Are you hooked up with the T13 guys?

Say hello to Matt G if you are, he'll know me as Rob Steele the ramp builder.

Yes hooked up with the guys there in T13. Good bunch of guys, they have the BMX Belfast shop in there. One of the guys Peter is 50 and you should see him go. I thought I was the oldest. Dont know your friend as yet as I am only new to the place.
