The other half just told me, Rom's been made a Grade II listed building - 'bout time. They should do a few more n'all:

Great stuff! I should pay it a visit sometime - heard & read about it in magazines for 30 years now..

Fantastic.............I spent almost every Sunday morning, 10 till 2, at Rom until about June / July 86.
Grade II listed is a pretty heavy save for BMX / Skate history - I'm working on a few buildings in London that are Grade II listed and the way English heritage look over what you're doing make sure its preserved exactly as is...
I only live about 5 miles away, might make a tribute visit!

Lets hope there isn't a preservation order on the coping!!!!
This is great though.

EH should be ok with maintainance - 'crete and coping as the use of the place defines it :daumenhoch:
And they've left out the wooden ramps etc so plenty of scope for pissing around the park :)

Bummer that Wicksteed didn't survive long enough to be properly cherished :-)
-
Yeah - it's a right fecker that a lot have bit the dust (or been totally buggered). Seems the new guy in charge at EH has a bit of a broader view on listed schizz than the last. Fingers crossed more will get added.

Only been once. Mid 90's. It were wet and windy. We should have a rad meet there sometime, that would be ace.

Right behind you on that one. Could be an excellent venue for a RAD meet.
