So, this is how my bike looked a month ago....

But now I'm really excited as I just got this pic from Australia from Carl at Precision Plating...

:D
Looks like they've done an amazing job on the black nickel finish.
I cannot wait to rebuild it, as I should've done in the first place. :-[
-
Stunning-looking finish! Which way are you going with the rebuild?
-
Black and chrome with a splash of blue ano I think. All Pro Class parts, but I'm going to use DC brakes.

Tis a nice bit of plating Vos :daumenhoch:

Nice result :smitten:

:daumenhoch:
Here are some of the other parts for the build. I'm going to try and keep as much blue and chrome in as I can, but it'll have black tyres, grips and seat. I'm not sure about the pads yet... I'll have to wait until it's all together.

+1 on everything said above!!! I wasn't sure about the blue powerdisc at first glance but the more I look at this, the more I think it's spot on! :daumenhoch:
Stunning bike Vos! :4_17_5:
-
Cheers guys! :daumenhoch:
It certainly was a long way to send it, but I looked everywhere to find someone here who could do it. There is a decorative platers in Watford that said they would have a go for £1200. Their tank was only just big enough and they said that there would be a 50/50 chance the finish would burn on the frame? :-\ In which case I would still have to pay the £1200. fook that! :idiot2:
-
Thats an amazing finish Neil, you really go that extra yard on the details - spot on mate :4_17_5:
-
The finish looks awesome mate... lovely bike. :daumenhoch:
-
looks awesome what did it cost for replating
-
That is the bomb! "wantit" :4_17_5: :daumenhoch:
-
:daumenhoch: Cheers guys!
Plating for the frame and forks was only $300 (AUS), including stripping the show chrome that was already on it and a buffed wax coating to prevent oxidisation.
It did cost more than that to get it there and back safely and quickly though.
Here's a reminder of how I originally got the frame and forks, two years ago....
