Title: New school flatland bikes
Post by: paulb113 on October 01, 2014, 08:50 PM
Hi
Has anyone got a new school flatland bike? I am thinking of getting rid of my mid school Fishbone Kong Fu and getting a light new school bike

It is cool, but being mid school its heavy and fancy something a lot lighter

i have a quamen delta 2 flatlander. think it's a 2007 model. a lot lighter than the midschool flatland bikes though.

changed the bars and stem and put on some 160mm profiles. but this is how it looked before.

Looks great :daumenhoch:

How do they ride with the straight down bars, stem?

I can only do 80s tricks so far but want a newer bike and to try some newer tricks :LolLolLolLol:

i never really liked the bar stem combo so i put a short reach stem on and some odyssey terry adam bars. it's a short frame, think it's 18" toptube and it's a lot less effort to lift and spin it. i still do 80s tricks too but i do try some more modern one's with a little success but not much.  ;D

Being 45 I get dizzy if the kids push me too fast on a roundabout :LolLolLolLol: so maybe I wont try all the fast spinning tricks!

i ride flatland on an odyssey waltz. light and not 18.9" tt. bit more manouvarble with lighter bike - but if you ride bit of park/street too go for something built for all.

deco frames seem good, same as the new wethepeople utopia and few others.

have a gander on flatland fuel to get some ideas. most of my bike is via ebay uk from time to time. no khe baked bean tin headtube frames though.  :LolLolLolLol:
