RADBMXMAS Winter Gathering @ Terminal 1 Melton Mowbray - Saturday December 13th
4th Annual 'End the year with a blast' ... this year @ Terminal 1 Park - Melton Mowbray Airfield :daumenhoch: ... a festive gathering for us RADsters on the edge of the North South divide :)
( this pic has changed a fair bit now - the door gap has gone and theres a little rhythm section on the right and a spine ramp )

Starts @ 9.00pm to 12 midnight - people will be around from 8pm - price will be £10 a head for riders ... pay on the door as you arrive. If you are just watching / chilling then its free!
Only 25 people down for this at the moment ... so more than likely less than 20 coming ... thats about a 1/3 of previous years.
Based on the low turnout I'm gonna cancel the show 'n' shine, sales 'n' swaps and any other comps.
Its just gonna be a 3hr private session for riders and people to watch if they want. If you want to bring bikes to look at then all good but theres no offical S'n'S... same for stuff to sell / swap.

Wicked indoor park - ideal for first time riders or old school rippers ... with room for getting your Show 'n' Shine bikes out again ( as MK is really not enough ) :laugh: if you are coming to chat or coming to ride then bring your bikes and lets make 2014 the best turnout for the Xmas S&S yet 8)
... so why should I leave my nice warm house? ...
- Well designed park with lots of different sections so lots of people can ride at the same time... sweet bowl / jump box / spine / little rythmn section / foam pit
- Xmas Show'n'Shine - get those bikes adored 8) we'll have a 'Peoples' vote for best 'Old race & freestyle / Mid race & freestyle' 8) 8) 8)
- Nice warm 'alpine log cabin' style cafe serving decent food and drinks.
- Rider comps for stuff like best 'line', 'trick','biggest balls' and best 'festive bike or person' etc
- Swaps'n'sales - bring and buy... sell shit buy shit!
... or just stand around having a chat eating mince pies and sipping mulled tea ... or coffee :daumenhoch:

There is a chance I can do this now. I've just been made redundant but I know I have work until Feb next year.

This will be the last one unless people show some interest.

Ed, I seem to recall how the Christmas do started as folks wanted another event in the calendar to show their bikes, come have some banter and catch up with their BMX mates other than MK in the summer :daumenhoch:
The last three have been mint, with a great turn-out and the fact that the few of us who want a ride in a premier skatepark with no scooter fleas is just the icing on the cake :4_17_5:
Come on folks, show some commitment to your favourite BMX site and get your name down, it's FREE unless you want to ride, and even then it's only a tenner. The cafe is excellent and the venue superb, so make the effort and get yourself along or it will be the last one Ed bothers to try and organise :yahoo_silent:

with the Toy ride oop North and the Haro book launch down South the diaries are clashing a bit (might add that you put this up before either of them!)

Ed, can I bring a new set of hopes and dreams with me as yours sound a bit worn thin mate and could do with replacing ???
Would they count as sales n swaps as you can have them for free, no money needs to change hands :daumenhoch:
But seriously, guys if you ask for a mid MK to MK gathering then can't be arsed to get involved, I'm not suprised Ed's a bit disapointed. Yes it's an odd location but if we don't support these events, they won't happen and we have to have somewhere in or near the middle of the UK. Birmingham, Nottingham or Leicestershire when you look are in the middle, hence the chosen location :yahoo_silent:
Never mind, the few of us left who have a great time riding (badly) and taking the pish out of each other (constantly) will have a great time without the rest of you :coolsmiley:

Sorry to say I won't make it tonight. The 8 hour round trip proved too much. Have a great ride though and hope to get to one of these sessions next year.

I think we were all knackered before we arrived, but we manned up and gave it our best. Which was rubbish but we don't care :2funny:
Sibs and Jol were massive and that wall ride from Jol was mental. Jim is after that big jump box backwards. Rich and Gary jumped that crazy transfer and the rest of us chatted in between runs - just as it should be :coolsmiley:
Sketchy award of the night goes to Leon who spent a lot of the time changing his kecks after some of the awesome but sketchy moves he pulled :shocked:
Roll on next sunday at Asylum and then the 27th back at the Boardroom, our spiritual home to finish another year of riding even though we know we are too old but don't care :2gunsfiring_v1:
