Hello everyone, I've just come across this brilliant site.
My name is Ritchie and my story is probably a bit different to most of the members on here, in that I was never a BMXer when I was younger. Growing up in Newcastle I was mad about BMX between about 1995 and 1997 (so between 13 and 15) but my mam never had much money around that time so I never got one. I did however procure a good few copies of Ride and BMX Action and poured over the photos for hours on end!
I'm 32 now and for some reason about a month ago I started remembering how much I wanted a BMX back then. I've now got a bit of disposable cash and reckon I'll finally give it a go, 20 years on! Call it an early mid life crisis, but better late than never ;D
I've been keeping an eye out on Ebay for some of the bikes I remember from the mid 90s but none have come up so far. Not looking to break the bank, but I'm hoping to get my hands on a beat up old Mongoose or Diamond Back for under 100 quid and have a go at restoring it. My dream bike back then would have been something like an S&M Dirt Bike, but I have been shocked to discover the sums they are going for now!!!!
Anyway, I'm looking forward to having a look at more of the amazing BMXs that people have posted on here, and hopefully learning a thing or two if I ever get my own restoration on the go.
Cheers!

Get stuck in lad. The 90's was the best time for me. Had a few S&M's, got a few more now. You'll find one cheap0if you look hard enough, and take your time.
