Hi guys.
The Streetbeat I bought yesterday has original Skyway Tyres which I know are pretty rare as I've never seen a set for sale.
I want to use the new beat as a rider so obviously I need to remove them and fit something else.
My question is do I fit the rare Skyway Tyres to my other Blue and Grey show bike even though the tyres appear used, have slight cracking and the sidewall in places looks a little dry?
I have some mint NOS Tioga Comp Ramps on it at the moment and in my opinion look nicer than the fatter 1.95's which the Skyways are.
I just think it will decrease the clean, brand new look of the bike.
So what do you think?
Cheers
Steve

Remove them and use some pork chop jobbies Steve. Leave the others as they are if you like me that way mate
-
Like Rob has said above , remove them , leave the comp ramps on the mint baller and just buy another beat to put the Skyway tyres on :D ;D
-
Yep think I'll buy some cheap rider ones for the new beat and leave my other one as is.
I'll just keep the Skyway tyres on the back burner.

Leave them on and ride them.A few ride outs and a wobble around MK will hardly wear them and you will keep the bike as a complete survivor.
-
Could always try this to bring them back to life for your show bike

keep em steve, give them a quick clean +try them on the beat to see what they look like ;)
for the rider like other said get some porkchop or some white kenda's would be pretty cool

Steve, if you think the sidewalls will hold out, then just gently clean them, vaseline the walls and ride them buddy.
If you are going to store them, place an inner tube inside and blow it up a little to keep the tyres in shape :daumenhoch:
The Panaracer re-issue's that Ian does at Natsukashi are perfect tyres for riding on too :)

If you know anyone who wants any, it's best to buy about 3 pairs minimum, any colour choice, and get them shipped together. It works out about £40 per set each then. You will pay no duty on them either and postage from Ian is usually very quick :daumenhoch:

Awesome info thanks dude...
-
Even if you remove them and don't put them on another bike, do what Gnarleyscoots has said put a couple of innertubes in them to hold shape. Don't get rid your probably never find another pair. Keep them in the collection, your only regret it. :)

forgor about them steve ,got a pair of white from ian last year -think they were about £45 posted for 1 pair -didn't pay any duty on them,as there kevler beaded they fold into a small box and he marks them down too ;)

I bought a set of black panaracers from Ian. No import duty, very reasonable postage charge, and they arrived within a week from Japan. Now THAT is excellent service :4_17_5: Nice tyres too!
