Ive seen some lovely restos on here that were once chrome frames that have ended up painted/powdercoated... id like to do the same - but how do you get the chrome off? ANy help please!!
-
You don't have to remove the chrome. If you get it powdered the company you use will be able prep the surface prior to coating. Same applies for painting just a quick rub down to prime the surface :daumenhoch:

have wet n dryed and sandpapered the chrome down to be as flat as poss - taking it to the powdercoaters tomorrow - think itll work?
-
get em to do a candy coat on top of the chrome, I think this is the technique Hutch used for their original fook oops on chrome frames !? hence a load of candy coated Hutch's !
that's if ya want candy !
otherwise its a good rub down ;)

mine goes into costic then charged to release the chrome.

The correct way I believe :daumenhoch:

Do you have to remove or prepare the chrome for powder, or can you powder over the top??

a good key will do then let it have it. :)
