Aren't they a square taper style fitting rich or are they splined?

Wouldn't a sealed shimano square taper do the job from a mountain bike?

Are you talking pinch less 401s or 400s ??

yeah 401's splined won't fit euro bb and the 400's are square taper but has a different pitch to normal taper cranks so i wouldn't use a non specific axle with 400's if the bike is to be ridden.

401 splined with a 19mm spindle works with a Profile euro BB. My JMC BS has a euro BB and i used this configuration.
If you have deep pockets, may i also recommend you consider Royce. They have many variations and even large square taper for those cranks that are shall we say a little tired.

A period manufacturer of high end road components from the 80's who have evolved with the market.
Probably too much to spend but nice to know the option is out there. Of course not splined so 400's only.
