Looking at rims and what would be considered the better quality rim?
Sun BFR or Alex Supra E Pro?
And are either suited to a '99/2000 bike?
-
The BFR's deffo, Alex rims branded 'Supra-E's' came out a little later, but they were out then branded as 'Alex Fat Rims' - identical rims, different decals.
I'd go with the BFR's - they've both got chrome that would bubble if you fart near them (then again so did Araya Super 7X's) but you'll get the same strength rim but lighter with the BFR.
Then again though, if you want your wheel to be over 50% blingy chrome, go for the Alex rims :daumenhoch:
-
So the Alex are a chunkier rim than the Sun?
-
The Supra E's are triple wall rims, and the Suns are double.

No probs - or to throw a spanner in the works you could go Sun Big City rims - they came out summer '99 n'all :daumenhoch:
-
Just bought the supras in black, and have already got the big city in chrome, so i'll try both on and see what i fancy :daumenhoch:
-
And that was a lie, I have Black Box rims in chrome ::)
-
Black supra E front, chrome big city rear :)
-
Supra E for rear. Heavier than BFR but stronger.

Supra J's are pretty solid rims too, not sure on the date though probs a bit later , got a set of 48's on prolite stealths , nice wheels :daumenhoch:

Yeah J's were decent as are the prolite hubs. I had a set of those in smoked chrome. Nice and strong and not too heavy.
