So... I needed a bike to take to ramps nights and didn't want to spend big bucks on a new bike that was going get scratched and potentially messed up...
... Paul B came up trumps and put me in touch with some local guy and with a bit of wheeler dealin' I got the bargain of the century for what I needed... A 2011 Colony

My lovely new lady Jo bought the bike for me as a Chrimbo pressie. As you can see although a steal for the price I got it, it was looking a little tired....

Jo being Jo said I could buy a few nice bits to revamp it ...... ( and she'd pay!! )

I've had great fun learning about new school bikes and parts.... And new parts can be as cheap as chips in the sales ( thanks to Alans, Evans and Chain Reaction and Ebay of course! )
Thanks to some great help too from Rad members ( you know who you are ! )
Bear in mind this was s budget build and parts were bought on cheapness first and colour/aesthetics second ...
I hope you like the results ....

Those tractor tyres simply had to go so I love these cult ones that Andy and Paul both recommended

The good news is that parts can be so cheap that I can always re-vamp this again in six months!
Cheers for looking,
Ant

Nowt wrong with that mate! (other than those bars look a little bit too forward, they should be inline with the forks) :daumenhoch:
You'll love thrashing that without worrying if it'll break :daumenhoch:
-
New girl sounds alright then :daumenhoch:
Have you ridden it in anger yet?
As Pickle said, get them bars back, it'll be twitchy as fook otherwise.
Looks good with the refresh :daumenhoch:
-
Cheers for the positive comments lads :) .... Bars will be put back for sure .... Taking it to Blackpool next Friday for its first ride out ... Can't wait lads :daumenhoch:

-

Still learning what's cool or crap in the world of new school.. The blank levers were blue and cheap... I can cover it up if it's as offensive as having a pair of lee chi's on a hutch! :D ;) :daumenhoch:
Yep Joff it's obviously early days ... 7 bikes on the mezzanine is my limit I've been told!! :'( :LolLolLolLol:
.... That is until I get a man cave when we move! ::) :crazy2:
-
They're brake levers that work.......who cares what make they are......its all good as long as it works :daumenhoch:

I suspect he was joking Rob...
I have a Blank headset on one bike & it's lasted ages.
Nice bike Ant.

Jo does have a sister...... But sadly for you she's happily married with two kids! :4_17_5: :D ::)
Cheers Rich.. To be fair it's the best goddamn brake set up I've ever had! Blank lever included.... It's tight tight tight!
.. And as for the Colony... Well it's light light light! :smitten:
-
Nice is that Ant. :daumenhoch:
-
:LolLolLolLol:
Gonna look great crumpled on the floor when you fall off Ant :2funny:
-
Looks great. The light blue additions really give it an extra something. Looking forward to seeing it on it's first outing next Friday :4_17_5:

Ye of little faith !
I was expecting it to be scratch free because of your excellent tutoring Spen! :LolLolLolLol:
Cheers for the positive comments Andy! :daumenhoch:
-
why is the brake lever on the wrong side???
-
it is on the right side . RIGHT . :LolLolLolLol:
no. it is .
-
I always have my rear brake on that side, for doing Miami Hoppers etc in the 80s
-
Okay so It's often a matter of choice but I've done so many US spec builds that I'm more used to having my brakes set up that way. My next build ( GHP ) ,which I want to race, is set up this way so I'm getting more and more used to this US set so it becomes more natural to me. :daumenhoch:
-
So do you like the feel of this Ant?
-
I'll let you know after tomorrow night Rich ... Have moved the bars back now so it does feel better already! :daumenhoch:
-
It might feel a bit strange at first but you'll quickly get used to it........then try riding an old school ride afterwards ;D

Indeed...you'll never go back!
-
I'll keep you posted fellas!! :)
-
Still getting used to mine,
the thing i found with a NS is just how solid it feels, even when you come off and it bounces like fook on concrete, no damage :daumenhoch:
-
I do keep wanting to sit down and nearly breaking my spine every time I've been near it so far ! :-[ ::)
-
If you sit down whilst riding, try standing up on the move. It's a knee wrecker!
-
Now I'm really confused ... How the hell do I ride this thing ! :2funny:
-
point it and hold on for dear life ;D
-
:crazy2: FORWARD
-

WTF are you on about Ant?!!!! It's not a fuking shopping bike! You only sit briefly when your're coasting... Just stand & ride the bastard thing!
-
:LolLolLolLol: longer seat post helps with the old fooker syndrome , you'll have to search round for a long pivotal though or go back to using a railed seat , makes you're ns ride look a mid ride and confuses the young uns :D :daumenhoch:
