I always dreamed of having a Schwinn Stingray, one day I finally decided to buy one.

It is a great layback, in fact it is an incredibly rare Trickray post as used by the factory team.
This is the orignal bike complete with serious layback..

Never noticed before, But how many gears does it have Stidds?
Nice Ray babarnum :daumenhoch:

The Stingray has 5 gears !
I have found, for the gear lever a round sticker and another that shows the speeds of 1 to 5.

Gary,
It has the same set up as the factory bikes, which is an 18t on the rear with a Shimano chain tensioner (it is not a rear derailleur, just a tensioner). The front is twin three arrows chainrings with a Huret 2 speed front derailleur.
So 2 gears, one for getting off the line and for tight corners etc, and another for downhill/fast sections.

Cheers, Couldn't see the rear. Ive been toying with the idea of putting a 3 speed hub on my Dialled cruiser to ride to work.
But a single cog on the rear sounds like it might be easier. I used to have a 2 speed ACS freewheel that I sold.

These are such a classic design. When watching old films from the 70s 80s always guarantee you will see one. :)
Very nice bikes chaps. :)
