Title: Scammer on Facebook
Post by: Bigbadsam on February 25, 2015, 11:21 PM
Not sure weather people are aware of a kid who's tried to scam a couple of lads with a red Torker 280. His name is Owen James or Owen J Mackell. He's apparently took some guys cash already on one page and tried in on a couple of others. Be aware Boys n girls.  :police: :police: :police: :daumenhoch:

Heres the ebay link.

I don't think the ebay seller is connected to OJ on facebook.

It's so easy to do if you've got the bollox.
If peeps are paying him via paypal it will be linked to a bank account so he will get caught.

But if people are paying 'gift' like we all do on here, they won't get their money back.

true! but this guy should still be reported/prosecuted
makes me feel a bit better about being sometimes labelled as the sales  :police: on the FB group - it might mean restricting things a bit, but at least it means there's a bit more protection for buyers only having to deal with tag owners from here

Some price drop that... it was up for £800 the other week.
The only way to be sure you're not getting ripped is to arrange for cash on collection.  :daumenhoch:
Nice Torker for the money... bit too much gold for my liking tho.  :)

I would say so, looking through their feedback, there is a few purchases from some of the bmx sellers....

Although you never know until you jump.

Doesn't really matter whether it was facebook or a forum, was going to happen sooner or later.

A con artist posing as a newbie comes on here with a what it's worth thread could quite easliy rope someone in who thought they be in like flynn with a low ball offer by PM.

Surprised it hasn't happened already.

Yeah totally agree ... I'm really cynical of all new rad members who are selling high end stuff or those asking ... What's it worth ?
I have to say I love the safety of buying offa rad but you never know do you ?
We talked about buyer/seller feedback at one point and letting others know sales went through trouble free ?
Could be time to talk about it again ?
Just an idea ....

When I have purchased parts on here, I have normally postedin the thread that the parts have been received, etc. this works two ways, let's the seller know you have received item and are happy, also lets other users see the seller as sent item and there has been no problem with the transaction.
