Title: MKS Grafight X from white to black

Not sure if this has been covered before, but did you know that MKS Grafight X pedals can be dyed from white to black using the same Dylon method that is used for seats, tuffs etc?

I did a set back in 2003:

The only issue I came across was the plastic MKS end caps. At the time I tried matt black plasticote spray paint, and they looked ok at first, but since then I've chipped the paint through use & storage, and the ends need re doing.

Just wondering if anyone knows a better option for painting the end caps?

Good thread as you see more white versions of these pedals than Nos black ones  :daumenhoch:

Never tried the rustoleum one but in theory it should be fine. They are called dyes, although not a true dye they do soften the surface of plastic enough to penetrate slightly and form a good bond. Just make sure you follow the instructions to the letter and clean the parts imacculately.

This place has some interesting coatings including vinyl dye

Nice one, thanks for that link Clint, very interesting.

Just wondering how that would work on the end caps that have already been sprayed with plasticote.
Think I'd have to remove that first, but not sure how.
