Well, this is interesting stuff
I e-mailed harofreestyler.com earlier today to ask for advice with era and spec . . . Dan has literally just phoned me from the USA
He tells me this a very rare USA (Torker made) 1984 Haro Sport and one that Dan has no record of being produced or to remain in circulation. I have just been blown away by an offer to buy this frame alone and I am still in shock
I'm gonna have a strong Vodka now and try to make sense of this :crazy2:

It's here to stay mate :daumenhoch:
The value is of no interest to me. I bought it to restore and I've found the perfect winter project I've been looking for

Steve
Alan's has a set of Haro Forks on the bay at the moment that would go sweet with that. Nice find btw but defo needs some TLC :daumenhoch:

How much was the offer for?
-
yeah but when is it gonna be my turn to look after it???

Cheers Marty . . . Placed my bid and hopefully I can complete the frameset . . . thanks mate :daumenhoch:
How much was the offer for?
Enough to buy a complete bike with decent spec. Apparently, this is the only Haro frame design that Dan doesn't have in his collection . . . he tells me it's got something to do with the serial number which may account for his generous offer
yeah but when is it gonna be my turn to look after it???
I have to keep this one Dave . . . sorry mate :(
Steve

A result then fella!
-
oh bo11ocks
never mind
lol

Torker made? That explains the difference in the platform. The seat stays go further up the top tube as opposed to simply meeting the end. Excellent score ! :) 8)
-
WoW....
That is a very lucky find!
According to my list, there is no other Haro Sport like that in the World (known to still exist).
It is Torker built in the US, like the Haro - Freestylers and Masters (Gen 1 and Gen 2) and also the Haro Sport Gen 1 (only 2 are known still to exist), so from the way the code is laid out I would ID this Frame as a -
August 1984, Haro Sport Gen 2, build number 459 (and pretty damn rare!)
As it is so rare, I would not even restore it until more is known (others may surface in time), and also so that you have the original decals, and also so that the frame number can still be seen.

A HUGE thank you to everyone for their input here . . . I appreciate everyone's help and advice :daumenhoch:
Somehow, this all sounds too good to be true at the moment though I expect it'll sink in soon . . . WOW !!!
Steve
-
wow. so where did you find it??
this reminds me of Arthur Marshall talking to an old woman about the chest of drawers she's had in the family for 200 years, only to be told its worth 3 grand.. wow. great find.
we should have a episode of BMX antiques roadshow...
