Just got some amazing stickers done by Del! Bit scared to put them on and cock them up tho, getting them bubbled or wonky! Any advice on the form anywhere dudes?
-
sponge the frame with warm soapy water and place the decals, if they are wonky they should slide into place with a little help. Sponge flat and allow to dry :daumenhoch:
Any bubbles can be hair dryered :daumenhoch:

Do as Nick says and you won't go wrong :daumenhoch:

Ah really? Soapy water? But won't that soapiness stay under there and stop the sticker sticking so good? :-))
And what kinda soap? Like fairy liquid?
Thanks a lot guys!

Hang on Mark, there's a thread somewhere in tech n resto
-
Here you go, always worth checking the stickies (pun intended :teef: )

Not that much that it foams everywhere but no it won't stop it sticking. Washing up liquid yes.

Are you putting chrome stickers on a chrome frame or clear ones. If they are clear you need to avoid as much as is humanly possible getting fingerprints on the glue of the sticker as it will show for ever more! Chrome stickers are much more user friendly but tend to be a pain if not placed correctly first time.
Here's a thought. How careful do you think the Asian on minimum wage placed the original stickers in a massed produced factory?
-
i've always just taken my time and done them dry, as Nick says.......they were just slapped on BITD :daumenhoch:
Did these the other week, just make sure you take your time (and keep your cat out of the way if you have one, or two or three like i do) ;D

1) those kids in the factory have nimble fingers
2) and probably do 1000s a day, so are good at it
2) if they weren't up to scratch then they get the :knuppel2:

Yeah they're silver/foil stickers going on a chrome frame.
So should I avoid the water u think?
It's a downtube sticker that works for both sides of frame so just worried about getting it on wonky!
Thanks dudes!
-
do it freehand/no prep like they did bitd . :slayer:
-
just stick the damn stickers on your damn bike!!!!
:LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol: :LolLolLolLol:
-
sticker anxiety ffs . do you get a disabled badge with that ?
-
Have a go at it and if it goes wrong you can always get some more :daumenhoch:
-
I've always used water with washing up liquid in it.
I've also wrapped the downtube with masking tape to give me a straight edge to place the decal against to combat wonkiness :LolLolLolLol:
-
ah good plan with the masking tape!
right i'm doing it! thanks for help everyone!
