Title: Early Standard Strip Bars
Post by: ED209 on March 09, 2015, 10:47 PM
I'd bought some mid school mags from 90s rider Dave Beveridge when I asked if he happened to have any parts left  :) he said that just about everything had gone years back apart from an old pair of Strip Bars.

Dave's story about the bars was as follows "Moreno Valley 1993? Bicycle stunt contest .. Where Taj debuted his inside tailwhip over the elbow. Sandy Carson was riding for Standard Bikes, I had S&M slam bars, which I'd bought off Dave Clymer. Sandy did a straight Swap I think. It was a while ago. They are bare metal and he told me they were the second pair evermade. Hes a straight up guy"

I put a photo of the bars and the story up on Instagram and got replies from Rick saying they could well be early bars.. then Sandy himself to say that he remembered the whole thing  :daumenhoch: he wasn't sure he could definitley say they were the second pair ever made but confirmed they were from the first pre production run of the bars  8) 8) 8) ...so I'm pretty stoked with that  :daumenhoch:

Dave beveridge had a pile of stuff from me for free once, standard forks, redline flites and techmatic BB.  Harry (sheep/defunct) told me he piled it all on eBay a few years later and made a wodge to pay his rent..  Hey ho!
