looks HEAVY :LolLolLolLol:
-
I still hate you. Not really - without sounding like the first 10 seconds of a Slick Rick track (skipping), that is frikkin aceballs, and a once in a lifetime survivor that is Ed.
Doesn't get more of a time capsule that. I've dug up less kosher stuff :daumenhoch:
-
Bastard :yahoo_silent: :LolLolLolLol:
thing of beauty Ed "wantit" "wantit"
-
Pull the bars back, pump the tyres up and job's a good un :daumenhoch:
-
Proper Mad Max.
-
Never say never Ed :)
I'm sure you will do it justice :daumenhoch:
-
That'l get the needles moving on the Richter scale
-
Last my arse
That already looks ace Edvard x
-
nice find ED :daumenhoch:
looking forward to seeing how your 'last build' turns out ;D
-
I think I'm going with Betty, MidschoolJon and Dannywhac and going to leave it pretty much as is ... even though in the cold light of day it is proper shot!
Will take a load more pics in a bit ... apparently it was all mint 5 years ago ... but then had to be left in a shed .... and the chrome on the frame has crumbled :'( :'( :'( :'(
Deffo going to have a 'sympathetic' resto tho... rather than a full 'mint' job... as when I do that they soon bore me and a sell em
Deffo the last bike I'm buying :P
-
Personally id remove that seat and rear tyre and replace them with something more 93 and its finished :daumenhoch:

Steve G. said this one was a 94 Kev ...
"Ed, the original owner of that was aaron webb , bought on the 15.11.94 . Good luck with the project"
but the guy I bought it off got it second hand from RS in Leicester mid 94 so Steve might be a bit out on that.
Agreed on the seat ... he had just stuck the tyre on to get it rolling ... :daumenhoch:
-
cool, most were 93/94 iirc :daumenhoch:

woah! keep your holiday shots to yourself

Lovely, very lovely, apart from the handlebars, which are a personal dislike thing.
The bike and the condition are aceballs though Ed, I love that just the way it is, middle finger chic :daumenhoch:
-
Flakey very flakey, But a bath would get rid of the brown stuff, Probably make the flakes fall off. But then so would washing it :LolLolLolLol:
Could use a rust neutraliser, Think that normally turns the rust black buts stops further rusting.
-
gonna strip and citric bath... but how does the rust nutraliser work Gaz? 'cause even after a bath its still gonna rust again
-
after a bit of research ...
found a Carplan one called Rust in Peace that reviews say is shiite
this is the one!

Great find Ed. Really looking forward to seeing this one tidied up. :daumenhoch:

Not sure how it works Ed. I'd probably just give it a gentle bath and polish.
-

I can live with that ;D

Cracking pick up Ed, pity about the nasty bits, I'd go down the route your thinking about, maybe citric acid bath and see how it turns out be a real shame to lose the stickers.
Normally I'm 100% behind a sympathetic resto but sometimes it's just too far gone and corrosion stops for no man.
-
Deffo a citric bath Ed, spadey99 found some cool rust eating stuff. It's some sort of gel if I remember, be worth a pm'iing him bud :daumenhoch:
-
it might be car stuff from halfords .

Love it, my favorite mid school bike :slayer:
I can get decals for you if you want them, 10 quid a set, 2 layers, exact copies of the orignals, same as on mine, let me know
-
Cool ride :daumenhoch: I'd leave it as it is or get rid of the rust & powder it, chrome is shot by the looks of it!
Shame they were never done with a normal seat tube though......
-
I believe later models had a standard sliding post

Citric bath completed ... lots of chrome missing but its staying as it is :daumenhoch:
got myself some PQR-15 Metal prep ( removes rust and coats with Zinc phosphate ) to go over the bad bits ... then need some clear PQR-15 Rust preventative coating to finish it off ... so gonna slap that on and get it rebuilt :daumenhoch:
Then I'm taking it to every park meet to see who can get 'Best trick on a a Zima' :daumenhoch:
