Title: The Teague Cycle (secret build)
Post by: Bigbadsam on March 29, 2015, 05:13 PM
As some of you now know there was a secret  :radbmxsmilie: bike reveal at Chester, but you might not know the story behind it.

After talking to our photographer friend Geoff Teague at the liverpool ride about him building his first bike and saying he liked Dancetothedrummersbeats   "Andys"  original Addidas build from a 90s Diamondback, it gave me an idea.
So i gave him a 95 Diamondback Viper Frame n forks to get him going...

(http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab184/bigbadbeardysam/2015-01/20150130_124725_zpsr4ercptf.jpg) (http://s862.photobucket.com/user/bigbadbeardysam/media/2015-01/20150130_124725_zpsr4ercptf.jpg.html)

Then i put together a secret crack team of master builders... and Jono, and suggested we all put a few spare parts together for a rider bike then he could decide how he wanted to fine tune it later.

And after a few Facebook messages between the  "The A Team" it snowballed into a full on custom build.

"The A Team was... Me, Jono, Jamie bazinga, Gaz Hulmes, some bloke off Facebook, Tony Lee, Nick Swannick, Brettypeeps, Lenny Walls, RetroDan, Paul Greenall, Rob yatty Yates.

After it came back from SBD (thanks jono) and a lot of swapping an changing and running about to collect various parts it was ready to start building  and Including a new set of tuffs it started to look the part

(http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab184/bigbadbeardysam/2015-03/20150309_231921_zpsyfjnwgke.jpg) (http://s862.photobucket.com/user/bigbadbeardysam/media/2015-03/20150309_231921_zpsyfjnwgke.jpg.html)

Nothing went according to plan putting it together    :idiot2: :tickedoff:   so after another message to "The A Team" we had a couple of new parts to chip in for  (and lenny popping round one night) we were off again  .....

(http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab184/bigbadbeardysam/11065497_734711353317247_647318716_o_zps0ahtntez.jpg) (http://s862.photobucket.com/user/bigbadbeardysam/media/11065497_734711353317247_647318716_o_zps0ahtntez.jpg.html)

Then with just the levers to fit,  the final result with custom "Hacienda" stickers, Geoffs original idea was done ready for the surprise reveal at Chest-air......

(http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab184/bigbadbeardysam/20150324_105058_zpspgwtlsom.jpg) (http://s862.photobucket.com/user/bigbadbeardysam/media/20150324_105058_zpspgwtlsom.jpg.html)

(http://i862.photobucket.com/albums/ab184/bigbadbeardysam/20150324_105117_zpsufddtklj.jpg) (http://s862.photobucket.com/user/bigbadbeardysam/media/20150324_105117_zpsufddtklj.jpg.html)

The look on Geoffs face was brilliant, complete  surprise, Gobsmacked to say the least.  All he thought he was collecting from lenny was a stripped frame n forks but instead he got the bike he showed me on a little piece of paper at jonos pub when i first dropped it off 7 weeks ago.

Big thanks to all the lads involved, and the lads that put their parts up but we were sorted for (only so many parts on a bike  :daumenhoch: )

Great thread and story. Thanks for posting this up, and a massive big up to all who were involved with making this happen. I was part of the facebook conversation, but was at work when it all started. By the time i could check my phone the parts were already accumulating, so I was unable to offer any additional help or contribute any parts. I kept track of the facebook messenger thread as I was still part of the conversation though, and some of the posts were hilarious - The Keystone Cops springs to mind.  :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: :4_17_5: to you everyone involved with this.
