so my mate just dropped this off, am i right in thinking it was made in april 1984? i'm gonna build it for him and i think he would like a fiola rep. going to see how well the chrome comes up after a citric acid bath but i think it may be too far gone and will need painting.

Yes you think right

+1! Good luck with the acid bath. Am interested to see how that chrome looks afterwards.
-
Don't see many chrome ones. 8)
-
just ordered 1kg of citric acid off the bay, will take before and after shots to see how it comes out.
-
so i gave it 30 hours in a citric acid bath, used a toothbrush to get into the tighter bits now and again and it turned out pretty good. still gonna paint it though. some before and after pics.

What a change!
Survivor build?
-
going to paint it yellow, fiola rep on a budget.
-
Are you going to remove the chrome first? :-\
Seen some overpainted chrome ones on here and seems to give the paint a nice finish. Or you going powder? Did you see that guys Redline's he had done by SBD they were 1st class. Although he did need a half chrome, half paint finish. :daumenhoch: I can't remember who it was though! :-[
-
i wont be removing the chrome, gonna buy some rattlecans and paint it myself. this will be built as cheaply as possible using parts i already have and whatever i can get cheap. ;D
-
Came out great! :daumenhoch: I'd be tempted to go for a chrome build but I guess if you're going to rattlecan it yourself, it can easily be taken back to the og chrome finish if need be. In any case, good luck with the Fiola build and keep posting those progress pics!!
