To be honest, I never saw them after 1985. I was still riding them until I left BMX sometime late 1986 but everyone I know was using 7X rims by then, probably because they were cheaper and easier to source  in Bognor Regis  :daumenhoch:

I think 7X still remained in production into the 90's although, most people were going with 48H rims, Peregrine Super and Semi Pro's, which are basically Ukai's.

I suspect the reason may have something to do with age. Maybe it's been done already but it would be interesting to do a survey of demographics on here. Not to just reveal ages but to see when everybody was into BMX bitd. I mean really into BMX, when we used to ride them everyday, read all the magazines, save up for the next part, know the answers to questions like this, etc, etc, and before BMX got bumped down the list by scooters, cars, girls and alcohol (delete as appropriate)!! The heyday for me was definitely the early-mid 80s, so my knowledge of stuff thereafter rapidly decreases. & of course my memory of what happened 30-odd years ago is patchy to say the least!!  :D

I would have thought for a long time dave, looking  at what's available now in the Taiwan bike manufacturers catalogues I expect they are still available, like so many other parts or just rebranded as something else

I am sure Ukai stopped making the 36h Speedlines around 86 latest though Pete. They were manufacturing the 48's in '87 for Haro which were decal'd as Peregrine. I never saw anybody using 36's after '85, except myself, and that's because I had traded them for my white Tuff's.

Cheers for the info guys  :daumenhoch:   The reason i've been asking dates, is because i want to give my Hutchins a re vamp, and blue rims are part of the plan. I'm looking for something from 92 and was hoping either of these would stretch to early 90's. Or has anyone got any suggestions for an alternative? (must be 36h).
