hi all, I am getting in touch with the view to find out whether any of you peeps would be interested in attending a cycle event that we, at Extreme Wheels Roadshows, are organising.
The event, Cycle Fest, will take place on Sunday 31st May 2015 at the Shirebrook Academy in Shirebrook, Derbyshire (NG20 8QF) from 10.00am – 4.00pm and the aim is to promote a range of cycling activities to a wider audience. In summary there are going to be demo team riders, local cycling shops, have-a-go activities such as kmx racing, bmx, cyclo cross, mountainbiking, bike taster sessions, film streaming, vintage bikes displays etc.
We thought that it would be a great thing to have some retro BMXs make an appearance and hence that is why I’m making this enquiry. We believe that many of the people attending would be interested in chatting to owners and seeing some older BMXs on display. We are quite open and flexible as to whether, if you chose to attend, you’d want a specific designated area to use or whether you’d prefer less formal approach and just mix with the members of the public on an ad-hoc basis.
I hope that somebody from here will be able to support our event. I look forward to hearing from you.

It would be rude not to attend as I live in the south of Sheffield and it seems a family friendly event so I'll bring my kids along :coolsmiley:

Lads, I've just spoken to Jon who's organising this. He's after a little display of oldschool bikes to get the yoof interested in the history of BMX and is hoping a few of us can bring some bikes along for a few hours, enjoy the event and answer questions about the bikes. He was hoping for a display ride from us all, but I've explained the cost of some of these bikes makes them carpet queens sometimes!
It's a very family orientated event so not quite the Dog & Duck at MK, but there's a good selection of displays and bikes for your kids to try as well so see what you can do to chuck an oldschool or two in the motor if you come along and let's see if we can generate a bit of interest for the sport.
He also wants to come along to the Asylum sessions as his kids ride there but can't make the 16th..... sounds like a new recruit in the making to join the Suspects ;-)
