I'm thinking ahead, with excitement for MK15. I was wondering where a majority of the RADsters will be staying, as we seem to be split over the 2 Hotel's.
It looked like all the carnage was at the Hotel last year.
Who's staying where?
-
Dan can you post up the hotel details mate as there's a chance the missus and kids might come to break their mk cherry this year and I'll need to book them a room. My 4yr old lad wants to ride round the track :coolsmiley:
Like fook will I be cycling round the lake in the dead of night full of vodka mind - my motor was well comfy last year :2funny:

Two years ago we were at the Holiday Inn and it's pretty good. The bar was full of bikes and there was no agro about that either.
Last year was Room 19.......
Most went to the Premier Inn because the Hol Inn had out priced themselves by doubling their price!!!
This year it has turned around and the Prem Inn is more expensive than the Hol Inn.
So it's back to the Hol Inn for me and the S G clan.
Prem Inn - easier to get too (unless you're Wini) and all off road but you have to pay £9 for your breakfast and kids can't use the bar after 10pm as it's a seperate venture.
Hol Inn - Simple to get to if you follow the right road! Breakfast is free but limited menu. The bar is integrated into the hotel and had no issues with the kids in the bar area after 10pm.

Yeah holiday inn Spen.
By the way, the gate to the track will be locked but no problem with people having a mooch. It won't be open for camping though

Me and Ant (factory pilot) are staying at the premier Inn on the lake on Friday night. Then geting to the (former) helipad early Sat morning, and camping on Sat night. Spen - same time, same place? :LolLolLolLol:
-
ah I see cool stuff cheers guys I thought things had changed since my last visit :teef:
-
I'll be camping, or rather stumbling into my tent or car on the helipad again. No doubt jono and the Radcliffe posse will be on it too with thd love bus.
-
Wanting to go on this but looks like i'll be making my own way down, anybody got a spare bed for the Friday, will pay for my share of digs?
Going to camp the Saturday.
Left it too late to get a cheap room for the Friday. Thumbs down
-
Anybody ever got the train down to MK
I am thinking of getting the train down Friday morning/afternoon then coming back Sunday, after getting the train to the London Rad Ride, booking the bike one was easy and I can get tickets there and back for less than £50 and no changes, first class coming back a cheap as £38
Staying over in hotel with on the Friday and camping on the Saturday, how much stuff do people take. Tent/sleeping bag is a must plus change of clothes and basic toiletries. Do people take food or just find a pub for breakfast etc.
Just thinking might be a squeeze with the luggage on the train and its about 3 mile from train station to the lake in MK. Can drive down but cant be arsed with the drive back on the Sunday.
-
I've get the train every year, it's a doddle getting there, getting to MK Stn on the Sunday is a killer though, I won't lie, always seems to be a headwind riding back. Riding to the Hotel/track from the Station is ace though, the excitement and adrenalin seems to make it go really quickly.
I always do it with a big rucksack on, I have done it with a tent etc, but a Hotel means travel light, and shite in a nice bog.
-
fook it, a few miles riding to train station rough is nothing, just cant be arsed driving back home rough
Going to decide this week and book tickets or not then buy a tent, this is going to be a fooking adventure :surprise:

It's a good adventure too mate. I have to change at Crewe, if we plan it right, we can meet there and travel down together. :daumenhoch:
-
Hotel back of car for me for two nights, unless I can be bothered to bring the big tent
-
It be my first MK. So coming up saturday morning then staying at prem inn (Willen Lake)..
;D ;D
-
Couple years ago everyone seemed to favour the Holiday Inn... so we chose the Premier Inn... D'oh :uglystupid2:
Last year the majority were in the Premier Inn... so we chose the Holiday Inn... Double D'oh :uglystupid2: :uglystupid2:
This year we have stayed with the Holiday Inn... its safer/easier to get Benno home in one piece at the closest hotel. ;D
-
We only changed last year due to the Holiday Inn doubling their rates due to 'other events' being held over the weekend of MK. :2gunsfiring_v1:
This year they're back to about £50 a night i believe :daumenhoch:
-
£18 tent bought from Halfords for the Saturday night and BMX booked on to trains.
Fooking all done now, sharing a room with Dan in Room 19 on Friday :surprise:
Does anybody camp on the Saturday night? or you all in hotels?
-
They'll be loads camping :daumenhoch:

Is there still free food and beer Saturday ?
-
Yes there will.......
Plus free entry to the weekend, free marquees to display collections / bikes, free use of the track, free use of the ramps, free use of the toilets and skip to chuck your rubbish.
We do try and cater for all and chuck in raffle prizes too !
Free use of the ramps
-
Is there still free food and beer Saturday ?
I don't think you need to worry about that Pete, obviously with your comments in another thread it offends you that we have food and drink for the members.
So I can't see how you can partake anyway, otherwise it would be a tad hypocritical of you.
-
Is there still free food and beer Saturday ?
It's only FREE if you don't have a SST and refrain from making a decent donation to the honesty jar/raffle on the weekend, but still partake and enjoy the hospitality of the forum and organisers.
-
Only asking got some mates who wanna come
-
they're all welcome Pete
-

I reckon that those of is that are staying at the Holiday Inn should have a mini lake ride over to the Premier Inn and get together with you guys for a few. It's a nice setting to get pissed to be fair.

Although riding back to the lake hotel last year I nearly rode into the water, so I may not make it there in one piece :LolLolLolLol:

It is pretty hairy, rode back there last year about 11pm, total darkness, overtook Gashead on the grass and only just swerved in time from ploughing into a bench seat.

That will teach you for showing off
