Title: Help with ProLite Freestyler F&F info...
Post by: wilsey72 on June 11, 2015, 05:23 PM
Can anyone help with info on a ProLite Freestyler F&F... its not a looptail/gusset CC model but its also not the large down tube one either.
I cant find anything about it other than there is a baby blue one on here with CC decals which looks lush.
I bought it at MK a few years ago (I think it belonged to a mate of Brettypeeps) and its sat in my loft ever since.

I'm now ready to build it but don't know if to do a CC replica or if there's a spec I can work too.
I'll take some pics later and add them but in the meantime hit me with your amazing knowledge.

Were they a predecessor of the CC loopy?
Were they a cheaper version?

Ta muchly in advance.  :daumenhoch:

I did some research when I had my CC sig Prolite and I think they are from the same period ... just a cheaper non-signature version - pretty sure they looked pretty similar other than the looptail :-)

frames were from 84 / 85 ... same time as the CC one

this one has fooking awful tyres and non-Prolite forks ... but they do look nice frames

The cc is reynolds 531 tubing, the non cc used cro mo 4130 tubing. The non cc is probably rarer than the cc,you dont see many about.

Great... Thanks chaps.
As far as numbers go I can only find 45 on the BB.
Now I'm excited to get going with it.
Found some CC decals too.
I'll bucket the pics tomorrow.  :daumenhoch:

as others have said the non sig model was made out of 4130 chromo -just a cheepo version-no looptail or gusset on the downtube ,think they were only made in chrome
