Title: ACS Z Rim restoration, been given an old pair!

I'm new to the site. I have ben given what my friend thought was a mongoose from 83, however I don't think it is. The bike does though have some black ACS Z rims that need refreshing, is this possible?
The rims are black with Gold ACS hubs. I hope to refurb the wheels and start from there.

Post by: oldschoolace on June 13, 2015, 12:59 PM: Welcome to the site Nick. Try the restoration stickies or a search. There should be loads of threads on z rims and mag restorations for you to read. Aquablasting, Wet or dry or media blasting with a soft media like walnut shell are all possible answers as is dying them. All depends on there condition.

The bike has a Takagi Cr-Mo 175 crank and Sugino chain ring. Looking at pics on this site and web
I thinks its an Ammaco Goose of some sort, hence why my pal said it was a Mongoose. The welding looks
pretty shitty, was that normally the case?
