Hi All,
I'm new to the site. I have ben given what my friend thought was a mongoose from 83, however I don't think it is. The bike does though have some black ACS Z rims that need refreshing, is this possible?
The rims are black with Gold ACS hubs. I hope to refurb the wheels and start from there.
Thanks Nick

Welcome to the site Nick. Try the restoration stickies or a search. There should be loads of threads on z rims and mag restorations for you to read. Aquablasting, Wet or dry or media blasting with a soft media like walnut shell are all possible answers as is dying them. All depends on there condition.
some pics would help :daumenhoch:

Post a pic of the bike mate... someone here will tell you what it is either way. ;)

Post a pic of the Goose. :coolsmiley:

yes I will do asap, however the frame is down the cellar and I have to muster up the effort to get down, as its not easy at the mo.
The bike has a Takagi Cr-Mo 175 crank and Sugino chain ring. Looking at pics on this site and web
I thinks its an Ammaco Goose of some sort, hence why my pal said it was a Mongoose. The welding looks
pretty shitty, was that normally the case?

Media blast or fine wet and dry followed by a soaking with WD40, let it soak and wipe off the excess.

Hi
So my friend thought it was a Mongoose, didn't want to say hid folks had him on. So could it be an Ammaco?

Looks like a Mongoose Wire Wheel... a Goose made for the British market i think. :chin:
Someone will probably be along soon to confirm either way. :daumenhoch:

From other pics I've looked i'd agree. What does anyone else think?

That looks like a wire wheel shaped gusset
