Title: The dreaded kitten
Post by: oldschoolace on June 15, 2015, 09:29 AM
I know this is more Q&A section but like the wanted add its pretty quiet in there  :LolLolLolLol:

I've been noticing the kitten of doom more and more recently both on the museum and on here. Usually when you are trying to research something and it's bloody frustrating

I know there were discussions about image hosting on here, just wondering if anyone knows where we might be with it?

After all besides it's members a forum is only as good as the info held on it  :daumenhoch:

We have image hosting on here Clint, have had it for a while now - just click on 'attachments & other options' and you can add files there straight from your pc/phone
I still use the photobucket when I can though, since it doesn't cause a drain on the servers

Yeah I think thats the problem Griff alot of the older stuff is added with photobucket or whatever and when people delete stuff it's robbed from the site too. Do we have the capacity/capability to host all the images on the site? If so could we add some sort of instruction somewhere that informs people that their images will be hosted and should they have an issue with it then click a box or something?

I know it's a big ask but I have seen loads of stuff lost recently on here and the museum, often by learned members who may have left the hobby or taken a sabbatical  :(

i don't think the issue is with space but more one of who's going to sit and save all the images and then reload them again?
