As some of you may know the BMX legend that is Scot Breithaupt passed away this morning.
He courted controversy in the sport and definitely had his demons, but he is and always will be the father of this sport of ours.
Sleep well OM
RIP Scot

Very sad day for BMX :'(
R.I.P. OM

He wasn't just there from the beginning he was the beginning. A pioneer, inventor, mentor and friend to many.
His list of achievements is mind blowing and staggering what he achieved in promoting BMX.
Thank you Scot

A sad day for BMX

It'll probably like trying to heard cats but what about a minutes silence for Scott at MK. Maybe lining the track?

Now that is a fantastic idea. Or a minutes applause to give thanks? Could the MK organisers make it an 'official' event? Say at 5.30 pm (or whenever) on the Saturday, before the lake ride?
-
^^^ this needs to happen.

I'd say the best time for this is just before the Lake Ride when everyone is together.
Just need a megaphone to tell people.

Very sad news.
Scot is the reason in my opinion of why we are all here, simply BMX
Yep, he had his demons, however when I had the pleasure of meeting him, he was on a straight road, all however still bumpy.
Last xmas I sent him some dosh on xmas day, just so he could get some bits....
I have an interview which I recorded, which I will share once I can get my head around watching it again.
R.I.P my friend.
-
:daumenhoch:
Be great to see that interview
-
He was all that was great in bmx' sure he's up there with a real nice set of power wings on
RIP OM

I was in utter shock when this news first bound on to my facebook page, and in the subsequent days there is still constant feeds, links, tributes, photos and articles appearing. With such a massive following of friends, family and supporters its absolutely tragic how he was devoured by demons. Below is an article in which his Mother talks of his struggles which really hits home. Not to detract from the face we knew, but to show you never really know the inner problems. Ride in peace Scot, you'll be missed.

A minutes silence at MK is a great tribute, prefer the minutes applause myself personally, make some noise..just a thought
-
Gaz, read the thread below..........we will be doing a minutes applause/woop/cheering and basically making as much noise as possible, not silence :daumenhoch:
