Some of you may have heard that Eddie was in town for a few days. I have to say that he was just the most perfect person to work with. Even from the moment he walked through the arrivals lounge door he was in the game. His first words at 0800 on Thursday, after a two legged transatlantic flight from San Diego, were "What we doing today?"
He never batted an eyelid when asked to do some 'weird' stuff but threw himself in wholeheartedly and I'm sure you'll see this when the One Flying Kidney boys release part 2 of their film. I will not steal your thunder chaps.
After a short drive, a pint at the littlest pub in the world and a power kip he was down the local BMX track talking to the kids and adults with passion about the hobby/sport. This passion did not waiver at all and he left us on Sunday lunch, still smiling.
He gave his time completely from the moment he arrived to the moment he left. Unbelievable.
And his family are lovely. His wife, Mindi, was mortified she crashed my Cyclecraft but hey, it's got it's own story now.
Eddie talked to everybody, smiled for every camera, listened to every story, laughed at every joke, rode for and with everybody, drank beer with everybody, ate hot wings with the fools and signed everything that was put in front of him.
What a wonderful, generous man. A true professional.
This picture typifies what I've rambled on about for the last few minutes :LolLolLolLol:

Gutted I missed this, but great to hear he's a down to earth geezer! :-)
-
Top dude :daumenhoch: love that pic in the ice cream van :LolLolLolLol:

I too am gutted I never made the effort, but followed the weekend closely from all your pics and update's on FB.
He did look like a genuine, down to earth guy, with an obvious love for BMX.
A tremendous effort from you and the Team begging it all too Nick. :4_17_5:
-
He's the Don.
Anymore photos Nick?
-
What a Gent he was too .. Great to meet him and good to see him drinking with the lads as one of us.
He looked like he was really enjoying himself .. :daumenhoch:
-
Had a top weekend, thanks Nick - didn't get to chat to everyone but tbh there were quite a few out :teef:
Eddie was an unexpected highlight, despite being the star of the show and being surrounded by a massive crowd of forty-something groupies he made time for everybody - everyone I spoke to commented on how friendly & approachable he was all the way through the day until after the pub shut.
That rucksack though ;D
-
As above seemed a really decent guy and still looks good for his age 😄 , what was in his rucksack
-
Couldn't agree more Nick, Top, Top bloke and so genuine with his conversation. Was asking me about a few of my freestyle bits, knew his stuff and I never once got the impression he was just going through the motions. I hoped he wouldn't be a jaded type who just milked his past because it paid the bills and I was glad he was the exact opposite.
Moonwalk made my day :daumenhoch:
Just need an appearance at next years MK now ;)
Oh and thanks for all your efforts for the ride out Nick, stirling work mate :4_17_5:
-
