Currently building my Silver Streak and need a little help on the nitty gritty names of these things please!
What will I need to complete the crank in the link above?
Pedals obviously!
Chainring obviously!
What else??
Cheers :daumenhoch:

You need a bottom bracket, I normally use a Tange, a 24 TPI (thread per inch).:
What I tend to do then, if I use a Sugino crank is use Sugino components, so a Sugino spider, 44t Sugino chainring, and I use unbranded chainring bolts, but you could use Sugino, if you're feeling flush. :daumenhoch:

Still Tange but a couple of cheaper alternatives. :daumenhoch:

Great thanks guys!
Have bought the Sugino bolts already!
And got my eye on the spider and 44T chainring too ;)
Are there different Tange bottom bracket models?

Probably a few variarions but all basically the same. :daumenhoch:
Or get yourself one of these better than the Tange bb's imo. ;)

Thanks! That's 24T, does it matter what size "T" I go for?

That means 24TPI (the thread size). The thread on the crank has to match the thread on the bb. :daumenhoch:
If you're referring to number of teeth on the chainring you can have what you want... the preferred old school gear ratio being 44-16. :daumenhoch:
-
Cool, all making sense!
And finally, I assume a Silver Streak bottom bracket only fits 24TPI?

No... a 28TPI bottom bracket will also fit but the sugino crank in the link is 24TPI. So you need a 24TPI bottom bracket. :daumenhoch:

Well I believe that was the original crank, spider and chainring on the original SS so that's what I'm going for!
Cheers guys :daumenhoch:
