My mates lad is just starting to venture into proper riding (parks) and is wanting a more suitable rider than his heavyweight POS Halfords special.
His budget is around £200, and I've looked in the usual places for any bargains but they are all pretty much Hi-ten steel frames at that price.
Anyone know of any shop bargains around at the mo? Currently got a KHE root 180, an Eastern nightwasp and a WTP arcade in the frame...
Cheers

Yeah cheers lads, its a xmas present so I'm thinking his Mum and Dad are gonna want something shiny and new. I'll have a word and see what they want to do though :daumenhoch:

Keep an eye on Winstanleys site, also Alans have had a half price bike sale

Unless it's a secret present I would suggest they ask the lad. I got a rusty old lambretta wreck one Christmas. My mum wasn't happy wrapping it in Christmas wrap but I was out there in the snow stripping it before breakfast :daumenhoch:

Mark dont be entirely put off by hi ten. Junior has a FBM Ignite frm MK and thats a Hi ten frame, but the whole bike comes in it 25lbs which is great, we swapped the bars and cranks for Cro mo and got it down to 23lbs

How tall is he? I've got a 2013 fit dugan 1 with a few upgrades I'd let go for around that money, pretty much like new, I think there's a scratch on the forks you can notice but that's about it. 20" toptube & 13" backend.

Looks like he's got a £300 budget now, which starts to include a better class of bike when you look at some of the discounted 2014 models. Got something in mind from Winstanleys, thanks for the help guys :daumenhoch:

Mark, if you can find someone who has a British cycling membership (anyone who races a bicycle needs one) they can get 10% off at CRC, it's a once a month deal, they just search the BC website for the CRC discount and put their membership no in and you get a discount code. I've used mine for this month and next months is spoken for n all ;D
