Title: HELP PLEASE
Post by: nitrohopper on October 16, 2015, 09:52 PM
OK so I am parting out the rl20II so I start to take it apart when the stem decided not to come out very easily at all  undid the stem bolt as you do wouldn't budge so then I take the stem bolt right out and oh yes oh now I have a four piece forklifter stem is this normal oh and the Base is still stuck in forks

Screw the long bolt back into the wedge, piece of wood on top of bolt to protect it the give it a tap / wallop to knock the wedge down from the shaft and it should pull out.  Top looks to be push fit so refit it all and bollock it up to push the stem back on.

Or wait till Clint pipes up.......

Berts got it  :daumenhoch:
Is it a fakelifter?
If it's a tight fit put the stem in the oven and the shaft in the freezer should help getting them back together a little  :)

Not saying it's fake but the fact that it came apart would possibly suggest that. Unless you have been really swinging at it with a hammer, which I doubt  ???

How did it come apart, did it  pull off or were you knocking at the underneath with a rubber mallet or something. If the former I wouldn't want to ride it

when I was removing it I  didn't knock the stem bolt down once undone so the wedge was wedged it has gone back togeather but I will sell it as a carpet queen special

I would definately strip that finish off and polish all the detail out first, noones going to believe its nos if its painted, you have to be able to see a parallel universe in the finish for it to be NOS. I think!!!
