I was asked this question by an old work acquaintance today... was there a BMX shop BITD in Nottinghill Gate and what was it's name ?
Any thoughts guys ?

Alpine Sports/Alpine Action used to be on Notting Hill Gate. They moved to Kensington High street at some point, but i don't know which location they were at first

Used to go on the train 40p return, this was at the time of the riots, scary place, if you was lucky big errol would give you a free beating. Brought loads of stuff there one of the best places for stock but same as now stuff was in ltd supply, remember brought blue araya aero rims gold nipples blue spokes gold suntour hubs for £60 I think. used to also go for the 7 odd 2nd hand record stores.
They had awesome adverts in bmx action bike.

it was in fact the other way round,
Alpine sports was in Kensington High Street and had a BMX/skateboard department in the basement. upstairs was ski's etc.

By 1982 they had opened the the dedicated BMX shop in Notting hill gate.

always remember the adverts but never ventured there , anyone got any pictures of the place inside

I went to both locations, still have the catalogues and a few receipts.
I never had a camera though, that was for the train spotters.

I remember going to the one in Ken High St. Probably around 1980. My dad was into skiing and took us there, I saw BMXs and really wanted one as I had a racer with massive cowhorn handlebars at the time.
